Business Model

Forest Hill Publishing pays our authors higher-than-average royalty rates.
2.
We pay our authors modest advances.
3.
We do not charge our authors fees.
4.
We only accept illustrated projects from
author/illustrators or author/photographers who are
professional visual artists; or from authors who own the
copyrights to their projects' professional illustrations or
photographs; or from authors who have obtained legal
permission to use their projects' photographs or illustrations.
5.
We expect our authors to be the driving force behind the sales
of their books. We provide them with book promotion and
marketing guidance to help them fulfill this role.
5. Our authors can purchase their books for resale at higher-than-average
discounts off retail price. TOP
Our
Distribution Channels
Forest Hill Publishing
books are available internationally to the trade from the publisher and through Ingram, Baker and
Taylor, NACSCORP, Bertram, Blackwell, and other U.S. and U.K. wholesalers and distributors. TOP
Discounts
We offer standard trade
discounts and discounts to schools, organizations, and
individuals on large orders. Please contact us for more

Submission
Guidelines
Thanks
for your interest in Forest Hill publishing. The following guidelines do
not necessarily apply to projects for which Forest Hill
Publishing solicits submissions, such as the projects listed here.
In general, however, please understand
that we must discard submissions that ignore these guidelines:
Currently, we only seek submissions related to Nichiren
Buddhism (Soka Gakkai), the
Lotus Sutra, Buddhist parables, or
the life of Siddhartha. Submissions do not have to be overtly
identifiable as Buddhist to fit this criterion.
We will not consider projects that require a significant
amount of editing and correcting.
If you are unfamiliar with the book publishing industry,
please read and apply the
tips located here
on preparing manuscripts for
submission to publishers.
Please only submit one manuscript to us at a time.
We will acknowledge receipt of your submission within 7 days--if
we do not, please resend it.
If you do not hear from us within 30 days after we have
acknowledged receipt
your submission, you may assume that it does not meet our
current needs.
Please understand that we have projects already in development.
In light of this, please note that any similarities between our
published books and manuscript submissions we receive, but do not publish, are purely coincidental.
Submissions must be emailed to us as MS Word compatible documents
sent to "email @ foresthillpublishing.com" with
"FHP Submission" as the subject.
The business model and guidelines posted on our website are
